MARVIN WINANS JR. JUMPS ON THE POLITICAL TRAIL AS HE PREPARES TO LAUNCH SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE AND NEW LABEL M2 ENTERTAINMENT
As CEO of M2 Entertainment, Marvin Winans Jr. is wearing two hats, as he prepares to drop his solo project, four years in the making. With a distribution deal in place through one of the nation's top distributors, and a hand-picked group of industry experts on his executive team, the young visionary is ready to hit cyberspace, making "friends" and fans all over the world. "The internet has made it possible to get to know people on a more intimate level," explains Marvin Jr, "And with what I believe is the one of the best music releases of the year, I plan to use new media to have more personal interaction with my fans."
The campaign will get underway May 6, with the official launch of his new social networking site, www.thisismwj.com, as well as with a fresh revamping of his myspace page, www.myspace.com/dec28th where exclusive downloads and merchandise will be available. The social networking site boasts a main page with topics ranging from news and entertainment, to music, faith, and politics. This will be the beginning of an aggressive online/viral campaign registering volunteers to help spread the message necessary to change the conditions suppressing our urban communities and families.
Blogs, pod casts, and virtual meet and greets will keep fans and online communities, alike, connected to the progress of not only Marvin's music, but to the campaign dealing with issues we're facing as a people. Winans wants the love in his music to spread with the same intensity of the "message of change" fueling the presidential election. While Barack and Hillary debate on how to make a positive change, MWj suggests, "Music has always provided the perfect bridge to communicate and that's the medium I intend to use."
Describing his music as "Inspirational R&B", MWj delivers a raw, emotional look into his life while exposing his similarities to the next man. "Image of A Man" is like a personal conversation among friends about how the average man handles loving his family, his friends, and community while clinging to his Faith.
Securing a distribution deal with Central South Distribution in the Summer of 2007, Marvin and M2 Entertainment are ready to spread love and life to the masses. The melodies and music production on the project are equally as cathartic as his soulfully delivered vocals. The long awaited debut is graced with tracks from famed super producers, Warryn Campbell, Rodney Jerkins (Micheal Jackson, Brandy), Noel "Detail" Fisher(Akon, Ray J), Joe "Flip" Wilson(Natalie Wilson & S.O.P., Beyonce), and MWj, himself. Image of A Man's "Inspirational R&B" promises to do just that-inspire. "Image of A Man" drops Summer 2008, for pre-order and album release information log on to www.marvinjr.com.
