Nathaniel & Necy Headline AP Gospel Awards with Marvin Sapp & Richard Smallwood
After the success of last year's Anointed Pages (AP) Magazine's Music Conference, the conference returns for another year with an all star gospel music concert added to what will be an annual affair now known as the AP GOSPEL AWARDS - SHOWCASE & CONFERENCE. This year's music concert will feature Gospel Soul duo Nathaniel and Necy, Marvin Sapp and Richard Smallwood. The other performers for the evening are Lance Williams and Bishop Neal Roberson. Throughout the weekend's schedule, the American Diabetes Association will be onsite testing and sharing vital information in fulfillment of the organization's community service ministry. The music concert will air on the Word Network.
The AP Nominee Showcase is at 7 PM on Friday, May 9th at Greater New Birth Church, 2207 W. Center Street, Milwaukee, WI. The host for the evening is Gospel Comedian Henn Sapp (Marvin Sapp's brother). The AP Music Business Conference will be held at Destiny Youth Plaza, 7220 N. 76th Street, Milwaukee, WI on Saturday, May 10th from 8-11:30am.The AP Gospel Awards is hosted by BETs Gerard Henry.
Along with the music concert, special emphasis is being placed on the nurturing and acknowledgment of new talent in the Gospel music industry.
Richard Johnson, President of Wogg Records on why he was happy to have Nathaniel & Necy be a part of this event and especially the significance of the artist showcase: "I feel the AP Awards is very appropriate at this time because if you don't grow these local Gospel artists who are out here or encourage them by giving them the opportunity to be seen and heard with some of the artists that are established, then you're never going to grow this industry beyond those who we are so familiar with already. What happens when the few at the top leave the scene? At some point we're going to need somebody else to carry the torch. I'm involved and Nathaniel & Necy are involved because we feel that the AP Gospel Awards & Music Showcase addresses those concerns in a big way," Johnson said.
Meanwhile Nathaniel & Necy continue to spread the Gospel with their first single Serve Nobody But You from their forthcoming debut CD Truly Anointed (Wogg Records/Fase 1/Fontana/Universal), which is slated for a June release.

Nathaniel and Necy have been blessed to sing inspirational songs with some of the biggest names in the gospel music industry such as: Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Dr. Bobby Jones, J. Moss, Dottie Peoples, The Rance Allen Group, Tramaine Hawkins, and The Mississippi Mass Choir. Nathaniel and Necy are a married couple of over 25 years who have been called by the Lord and given a vision. That vision is to touch the world with the love of Jesus Christ by preaching His word and singing His praise. Both are natives of Chicago, Illinois now ministering in Denver, Colorado. They have been singing together since the age of 16. Nathaniel is from a family of ministers and has been perfecting his craft since the age of eight. Necy is from a multi-talented musical family.
